I wish I had known this before switching to Fusion. The goal is to create a remarkable patient experience through automation rather than adding steps for team members. This should be an option in the intake form creator.
What are best practice workarounds that are PCI-DSS compliant since they don't currently allow API integrations?
As more clinics move to requiring a card to be kept on file, having a way for the patients to securely enter and save their card information is a necessity. This card should automatically populate into the patient's billing account. We do not want our staff unnecessarily handling card information, particularly entering it by hand.
There has to be a safe place for us to upload credit/debit card information prior to a patient having that first invoice. Maybe a form they can fill out and then have it loaded into the system with just their last 4-instead of us having to get all of the information from them and wait until their first invoice comes through. Our office requires automatic payments.
My practice requires a credit card to be stored on file when signing up for services. Fusion does not provide this option currently. I would like there to be a section in the patient chart for saving a credit card on file while registering patients.
I also agree with this comment. A more streamlined process would be much appreciated for our clients.
"It would be very helpful to be able to add payment methods directly to the billing account aside from the action of taking a payment. Our families give us credit card info as part of the intake process, but we don't take a payment at that time. It requires us to go through a lot of clicks and transcribing CC numbers to get the info into the billing account when it finally is time to take a payment."
This would be extremely helpful and efficient as we would not need to charge every family coming through the door and then refund them. The current process is ridiculous and needs to be updated.
The proposed work around of charging the card $1.00 and refunding it immediately leads to a poor patient experience. Patients rightfully do not understand why we have to do this to overcome a technical difficulty.
Having the ability to store the card on file as part of a clinic's intake process without charging the card at that time seems like a necessary function.
