It has become critical that we are able to utilize International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) symbols in our SLP reports as they some insurers asking for that kind of detailed information.
As an SLP, I use international phonetic alphabet (IPA) symbols. Can we add this font. Also, if not, can we have a font that at least uses a capital "I" with the lines at the top and bottom. The short vowel "ih" as in "pin" is written with a capital "i" (i.e. /pIn/) but that isn't the right way to write it in IPA and can be confusing. I therefore go back and forth b/t appropriate IPA and describing the sound.
IPA
It would be very helpful if the Fusion documentation would recognize the International Phonetic Alphabet. Currently, when I copy and paste contact notes, or evaluation information, etc. and I try to use the IPA, it shows up as other symbols in the Fusion assessment report. Am I doing it wrong?
I am an SLP and often use the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to transcribe what my patients say. It would be extremely helpful and save a lot of time if I could use these special symbols in my notes. I have been able to copy and paste these symbols in other EMRs but have found that when I insert these special symbols into Fusion they turn into ???s. It would save a lot of time to do so this instead of having to write 'oo' as in 'book' or using a shortcut every time to indicate how a patient pronounced a word.
